And they're off!!

The first day of school is always a bitter-sweet day for me. After having the kids home with me all summer it is hard to have them gone to school all day. Yet, after having the kids home with me all summer it is a welcome change to have them gone to school all day. I do love the fun, the bonding, the lazy days, the time together all summer long. But the summer does tend to be LONG. I miss the kids terribly that first week of school. Finding myself wandering around the somewhat quiet house (Cody is still home) looking for something to do. Then I start to enjoy the time and fill it with all the things that got left undone over the summer. And then having them gone all day becomes normal. I do miss them though. The hustle and bustle of kids around. But, as they come home from school each day having learned more than I could have taught them at home, I am grateful they go to school.

Lauren, age 7. 2nd grade. Loves her boots!!

Connor, age 9. 4th grade.

Connor was so embarrassed that I even took this picture of him by his locker. He is in Ms. Henderson's class along with all the boys in the neighborhood.

Holy cow, has your computer been broken? :) No, you have just been as busy as usual, right? I have so missed your posts, and it was fun to read about all of your fun things going on. I can't believe how much Lauren looks like you in the picture where she got her hair cut. I've never noticed that before! I love how your family spends so much time together. When you show us what you have been doing it really reminds me of me and my family.
