So, my friends and I ran a 5K on Saturday for our 'Syracuse Days' celebration. It was so much fun and a great accomplishment for me! I know, I know.... you are all thinking "Kathy is not a runner". I enjoy working out every day doing aerobics, weights, biking, and walking, but I have never enjoyed running (Too many years of being forced to run the track in High School). The 5K idea all came about a few weeks ago in a presidency meeting. My sweet secretary Joni threw out the idea that we should all run together as a presidency. How do you say no to such a nice request of doing something that would strengthen and unite your presidency?? Hence, I started running, loved the 5K, and have kept running. I might just keep it up until the next 5K (you ready girls??). After the run all of our families joined us for the parade. I've never seen so much candy, water bottles, t-shirts and stuff thrown out. The kids loved it!! There were some older men with white beards driving tractors and Cody would shout ,"It's Christmas!", thinking they were Santa. Later in the evening we all gathered again for the concert and fireworks. So, don't be surprised if you see me out running now and feel free to come along!!

I cannot believe you ran a 5K! Amazing woman!!! Steve & I just joined a gym & it is a pain in the behind getting my behind there!!! It is so nice you have wonderful running friends! Life is much easier when they don't let you get out of it!!! What an example you are - starting to run again, setting a goal & accomplishing that goal! You gotta love it!!! Love Lisa
It really was a great, fun filled day! Wishing I could run right now, but I went and injured myself, so I am stuch with the bike for a few weeks!
Love that you all ran the 5K together. That's so great! Loved seeing you at the fireworks!! I miss everyone there so much!!
Good for you Kathy. So when do you fit it in? Do you get up early? Do your kids dance, play sports? That's awesome!!!! And you look so cute.
What a great unifying activity for all of you. =) I think it is absolutely great that you all did that together and that you now enjoy running. (I'm only a tad jealous that I had to run my 5K alone.) I'm here if you ever want any company while out there. =) Love you! =)

WAY TO GO running the 5k..I wish I had that kind of ambition! I think it's great you all did it together, something to be proud of!
