It has been 'recital time' at our house for the last few months. Preparing 9 piano students to perform as well as myself is not an easy thing. It has been a lot of fun, and a lot of hard work. The big day was May 31st and the recital was in the Layton Library's auditorium. Each of my students (including my own Connor) did a fabulous job! To be honest, I lost a little sleep the night before worrying over each student, but they all pulled it off. I am done teaching for the summer which will leave lots of time to play with the kids. This was my 8th recital and Tony says it was my best. This year I played "Root Beer Rag" by Billy Joel. It was a tough one to learn and gave my fingers blisters, but everyone loved it. And as tradition goes, I also played 'The Midnight Fire Alarm" by Harry Lincoln.
